A Live Free Animal Rescue Program
The Last Litter
Surrender a litter to LFAR, and we'll cover spaying the mom (and neutering the dad too, if he's in your home) so no future puppies end up needing rescue.
WHY THIS PROGRAM EXISTS
Almost every rescue starts with a litter that didn't have to happen.
Most of the puppies who come through our doors trace back to the same story: one dog who was never fixed, and one family in a hard spot — a surprise litter, a vet bill they couldn't cover, a good dog and a moment of bad timing.
Taking in the puppies saves this litter. Fixing the parents makes sure there's never a next one. The Last Litter Program does both at once. We welcome the puppies into foster care, and we cover spay or neuter for the parent dogs so the cycle stops with them.
No judgement. Ever.
Accidental litters happen to people who love their dogs. We're here to help you through it, not to make you feel bad about it. If you're holding a litter you didn't plan for, you're exactly who we built this for.
HOW IT WORKS
Four steps, and it's her last litter.
Tell us about the litter.
STEP 1
Share a few details about the puppies and their parent dog(s).
STEP 2
We take in the puppies.
The litter enters our foster network and begins the journey to forever homes.
STEP 3
We cover the surgery.
We schedule and pay for Mom’s spay — and Dad’s neuter if he lives in the home.
STEP 4
Mom comes home.
Your dog returns home spayed, healthier, and this litter is officially her last.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
We break the cycle at the source.
Every litter we prevent is a litter that never has to be rescued, fostered, transported, or placed. It's the most direct way we know to shrink the number of dogs who need us in the first place.
